Technology signs major contract with Creganna Medical Devices
Galway based Creganna Medical Devices, and laser micromachining company,
Blueacre Technology, are developing novel technologies to create the
next generation delivery systems for minimally invasive medical devices.
Minimally invasive medical devices enable the treatment of patients
without major surgery and with minimum hospital stays. One of the key
success factors in minimally invasive surgery is the delivery system,
as it facilitates exact navigation and deployment of the treatment device
within the patient.
Advanced
laser systems developed by Blueacre Technology will enable Creganna
to design a new range of delivery device shafts using polymers with
enhanced functionality and biocompatibility. It is envisaged that these
advanced delivery device shafts will enable navigation within the body’s
most challenging vascular systems.
